A Human Life Ethic Study of the Red Envelope Phenomena

Red Envelope is not China's unique phenomena, but China is unique in having it for so long and so common. From the viewpoint of human life ethics, three causes lead to this phenomenon: patients' mis-transfer of the responsibility, their mis-conception of life, and the converging utilitarian money-based value standard in the medicine profession. Therefore the eradication of the phenomena lies in: 1. a general respect and ample attention to life; 2. a shift in the profession from the admitting and defending attitude of the phenomena to an inward shame; 3. the establishment of self-regulation in medicine.
