DETERMINATION OF THE INTENSITY OF THE EARTHS MAGNETIC FIELD DURING QUATERNARY FROM VOLCANIC ROCKS IN EASTERN CHINA

Abstract:A paleomagnetic study has been undertaken on three late Quaternary volcanic seqences from Wudalianchi in order to provide absolute paleointensities of the of earth's magnetic field from a site in the northeastern China. Values of the virtual dipole moments from 7.69 to 11.56 (1022 Am2) have been obtained. Those values are within the range of fluctuations of the worldwide variations of VDM's for Late Quaternary. The heating effect has been discussed.
