Abstract: | A full computer-oriented procedure is presented for simplifying the rational z-transfer function of a stable and minimum-phase discrete-time system. The simplification is based on truncating the u-domain (where u = z+z-1) squared magnitude continued-fraction expansion and using the factorization technique to obtain simplified models. An example is given to illustrate the procedure. |
