Owning the core competence is a headspring of keeping advantage in competition in scientific research work. Accumulating, preserving, exercising core competence is a perennial radical stratagem. Through studying how to cultivate the core competence of scientific research in the university, we give opinion and advice on cultivating core competence from confirming strategy of long-term development, introducing new conception of scientific research management; establishing self-learning mechanism; strengthening innovation; exploiting talent resources and forming common faith six aspects.
