| 摘 要： | 《大学的理想》是英国著名高等教育思想家纽曼系统、全面、综合论述大学教育基本理论问题的专著。纽曼认为，所有的知识构成一个完整的整体，大学应该通过知识传授培养良好的社会公民。纽曼的论述，对世界高等教育产生了广泛而深远的影响，对当前我国高等教育的深化改革仍然有着重要的启示。

| Abstract: | The Idea of a University by John Henry Newman is a monograph discussing systematically and comprehensively the basic theoretical questions of university education. Newman believes that all knowledge constitutes an organic whole and a university should train good citizens through the imparting of knowledge. His ideas have produced far--reaching and pmfotmd influence on world higher education and provide significant inspirations for deepening the reform of Chinas higher education. |
