摘    要:通识课程是我国大学教育教学改革的重点,但近年来的实践并未改变通识课程"不通"的现状,其症结在于以专业教育为本,通识课程只起点缀、装饰作用。事实上,大学培养的首先是本科生,是以人和公民的发展为目标的教育,然后才是专业人才。以人和公民的发展为目标的本科生教育是由通识课程支撑的通识教育来完成的;进而再以"通识"的素养去判断、选择、追求自己的专业教育。

Abstract:Despite the fact that providing a general education is an important task in the higher education reform in China,inadequacies are still prevalent.General knowledge courses are mostly not taken seriously while professional education plays a major role.The objective of a university education,however,is to first cultivate a responsible citizen,and then a person with professional skills.A general education is at the core of the development of a well-rounded citizen,who should choose and pursue his or her professional goals on the basis of a solid general education.
