| Abstract: | After the founding of the Unites States, the new nation confronted such difficulties as financial and foreign problems. In the course of solving them, sharp conflicts arose between Hamilton, secretary to the treasury, and Jefferson, secretary of state, which eventually resulted in factions and political parties. |
