| Abstract: | In the early period of 20th century, "New deal" of Qing Dynasty brought China firstly into modernization. At that turning point in history, Guizhou province, backward in economy, culture and information, set up a new type of army according to Western model. This new army and its officers played an important role in the course of modernization. |
