| 摘 要： | 该文综合运用Nord、Snell-Hornby和House的平行文本理论,对15所中国和15所英国一流大学学校简介进行定量和定性分析。作为宣传类语篇,中英学校简介都有信息和呼告两个重要的功能,但是为实现两个功能,文本采用了很不同的语言、呈现方式和内容。认识到这些差异将有助于译者对源文本做出译前处理,提高中国高校学校简介的英译质量。

| Abstract: | This paper is devoted to the quantitative and qualitative analysis of university profiles of 15 Chinese and English top universities respectively by using the Parallel Text Theories of Nord、Snell-Hornby and House. As discourses for publicity, both Chinese and English university profiles have two important text functions—informative function and appellative function, however,to achieve such functions, the two texts employ quite different use of language, ways of presenting information and contents. Recognizing these differences will help translators to revise source texts before translation so as to improve the overall quality of translating Chinese university profiles into counter part ones in English. |
