| 摘 要： | 旨在对英汉语言的照应和替代功能进行对比分析。照应和替代是系统功能语言学家Halliday & Hasan提出的五大衔接手段中的两种。先对比了英汉语的照应功能,指出其中的许多相似之处。对于替代功能,汉语的替代形式不如英语普遍,但现在研究尚少,有待进一步发掘。

| Abstract: | This paper aims to make a contrastive analysis of reference and substitution in English and Chinese. Halliday & Hasan categorized five types of cohesive devices, two of which were reference and substitution. This paper first points out many similarities by contrasting reference in both languages. Then it points out that substitution is not as popular in Chinese as in English. Since much research has not been done about substitution in Chinese, it still needs to be studied further. |
