The Shortcoming of the Novels at the End of the Last Century and Prospects in the New Century--A discussion on the everlasting literary works like Lu Xun''''s novels

Some of Luxun's novels have become everlasting because of their profound conception, rich connotation and perfect artistry. This is closely related to Lu Xun's personal experience, his attaching importance to the means of artistic expression and his sense of responsibility to nation and history. The novels at the end of last century, however, couldn't last long for the lack of historical point of view. Moreover, under the impact of market economy, the creation of literary works has been misled. In this case, we should absorb something from Lu Xun's works, working hard to welcome the appearing of new everlasting literary works in the new century
