180英里墙体重现 万里长城今更长

根据发布在中国国家测绘局网站上的报告，中国的长城比以往认为的更长，进行了两年的政府测绘研究发现了共计约有180英里（约合289.68千米）的“新”墙体。使用红外线测距仪和全球卫星定位系统装置，专家们发现了隐藏在丘陵、沟渠、河流中的墙体，这些墙体从辽宁省北部的虎山一路分布到甘肃省西部的嘉峪关。

Great Wall of China longer than believed as 180missing miles found

The Great Wall of China is even greater than once thought, after a two-year government mapping study uncovered new sections totalling about 180 miles^1, according to a report posted on the website of the country＇s national mapping agency^2. Using infrared range finders and GPS devices, experts discovered portions of the wall concealed by hills, trenches and rivers that stretch from Hu Shah Mountain in northern Liaoning Province to Jiayu Pass in western Gansu Province.
