| 摘 要： | 英语作为英国的母语早已超越它的国界而成为一门国际语言。本文试图从英国社会的发展历史来研究英语词汇的演变以及英语词汇中所反映的社会变化。英国社会的发展经历了早期定居者时期,盎格鲁·撒克逊时期,诺曼底征服时期,早期现代英国社会,现代英国社会等几个历史阶段。本文指出英语词汇不仅仅反映英国的历史和文化,当代英语词汇反映了当代整个世界的潮流与变化,科学技术的进步与发展。
