| Abstract: | Mental image association plays an important role in comprehension. Due to the elusiveness of abstract words, it is a much more difficult job to comprehend such words. Therefore, it is advisable to build up association between the abstract and the concrete--a kind of image association--so as to promote understanding. This article offers a few tips on how to set up effective image association with the hope that learners of English might benefit from them. |
