| 摘 要： | 时间的概念是通过其他概念来认识的，通过汉英有关时间的隐喻表达，从认知的角度对比探讨了两种文化认知和建构时间的途径和方式。这些隐喻概念的运用说明了隐喻在人类语言中的普遍性和各民族认知的共性，同时，隐喻概念因深受民族社会文化等因素的影响，也存在一定的跨文化的差异。

| Abstract: | Our understanding of time is essentially metaphoric. This paper attempts to explore the ways in which the two cultures cognize and construct concepts of time from the perspective of human cognition through examples of metaphorical concepts of time in English and Chinese. The application of metaphorical concept suggests the universal existence of metaphor in languages and the common features of human cognition among all nations. It also demonstrates the distinctions in the deatailed application of metaphorical concept due to national, social, and cultural differences. |
