Abstract:The dual-credit movement has expanded greatly since the late 1990s. It is a program that will have a major impact on secondary school students as they select it as an option to keep them motivated and challenged during the last years of high school. Research on how students have responded to dual-credit programs across the nation has been limited. This 2000 study of a group of dual-credit student graduates from an Illinois secondary school found strong support for the program. The results are similar to those reported in a study conducted by the same two authors in 1990.
