An Investigative Survey of Conditions Among Middle School Ideological and Political Workers in Beijing

From April to June 1987, we conducted an investigation of the condition of middle school ideological and political workers in Beijing Municipality. Eight meetings were convened, with forty-seven people taking part. We also interviewed two people, surveyed forty-nine by questionnaire, and collected three written pieces of documentation. The personnel surveyed included chiefs of the municipal and district bureaus of education; personnel from the personnel office and the political education office of the municipal bureau of education, and from the secondary education division of the district bureau of education; school-level personnel in charge of ideological and political work in middle school; supervisors of ideological education; teachers and instructors; Youth League and Young Pioneer cadres; political studies teachers; class masters and form masters; and students at both at the upper middle and lower middle school levels.
