刘铭传与台北建城

台北建城与开发，主要是淮军抗法名将、台湾省首任巡抚刘铭传在台时期开始的。刘铭传大规模兴建交通、市政、商贸、文化教育等设施，奠定了台北城近代化基础，台北由此成为台湾政治经济文化中心。基于台北开发和建城的历史变迁，着重探讨刘铭传的历史功绩，并作一综合考述。

On Liu Mingchuan and the Construction of Taibei

The construction and development of Taibei was mainly completed during the term of service of Liu Mingehuan, the first Taiwan Grand Coordinator. He constructed facilities of transportation, munici- pal administration, trade, culture and education, which laid a foundation for the modernization of Taibei City, and thus it became the political, economic and cultural center of Taiwan. On the basis of the de- velopment of Taibei and its historical change, this thesis discusses Liu＇s historic feat and launched a comprehensive research on it.
