On the Literary Perspective in the Confucian Thinking Paradigm: A Review of Song Lian's Literary Ideas

Song Lian was one of the important ministers during the late Yuan and the early Song period.His classic mode of literary thinking was determined by the flowery and delicate literary situation of the late Yuan Dynasty and the unified Confucian political background of the early Ming Dynasty,as well as his identity as a scholar of Confucian classics.For the functional theory of literature,he stressed reasoning for practice;for the literary creation,he advocated upholding Confucian classics;for the literary stylistics,he promoted literary discrimination to foster moral character.
