中国地狱传说与佛教伦理

佛教在其东传的过程中,不断吸收儒道二教的思想,逐渐形成既有别于印度佛教伦理又不同于中国传统伦理的中国化的佛教伦理。中国佛教独特的伦理思想在中古小说中保存的"地狱巡游"传说中有丰富细致的表现,研究这些传说对于了解佛教伦理中国化的过程很有意义。中国佛教独特的伦理思想在古代中国影响深远,有其特殊的历史作用,同时其倡导"诸恶莫作,众善奉行"的伦理思想也具有重要的现实意义和现代价值。

The Chinese Purgatory Stories and Buddhism Ethics

During the course of oriental transmission,the Buddhism had continuously absorbed the thoughts of Chinese Confucianism and Taoism and gradually become a new Chinese Buddhism ethics different from the Indian Buddhism ethics and the traditional Chinese ethics.A great large of the Chinese Buddhism ethics can be seen in some stories on the theme of "purgatory tours" in the medieval Chinese fictions.Studying these tales,therefore,is significant to understand the course of assimilation of Buddhism in China.Besides,this article also deals with the historical significance of Chinese Buddhism ethics,which is both profound and special,and discusses its current values,especially the ethics of "giving up doing evils and advocating good deeds".
