National Astronomical Observatories Chinese Academy of Sciences

The National Astronomical Observatories （NAOC） was officially founded in 2001 through the merger of five astronomy-oriented organizations of the Chinese Academy of Sciences （CAS）. Headquartered in Beijing, NAOC has four subordinate units across the country： Yunnan Astronomical Observatory （YNAO）, Nanjing Institute of Astronomical Optics and Technology （NIAOT）, Xinjiang Astronomical Observatory （XAO）, and Changchun Observatory.
