文艺的继承:偶然与必然

文艺发展需要继承 ,这是必然 ;继承什么 ,怎样继承 ,又是偶然。文艺的继承就是这种偶然性与必然性的统一。文艺继承中偶然性的复杂状况表现在三个方面 :文艺的繁荣与萧条 ;艺术天才能否出现与其历史地位及作用如何 ;艺术风格与流派的多样与否。艺术生活与物质生产的不平衡就与文学发展中的这些偶然因素相关

On Accidentality and Necessity in Literature and Art's Inheritance

It is necessary that there should be inheritance in the development of literature and art.But it is accidental with respect to what must be inherited and how to inherit.The inheritance in the development of literature and art consists in the dialectic unity between necessity and accidentality.The complexity of these accidentalities is presented in three aspects:(1)how literature and art flourish and decline;(2)whether there are possibilities for geniuses growing up or not,and the roles they play in history;(3)whether literary styles and schools are multiple or not.Simultaneously these accidental elements are connected with the unbalance between artistic life and material production.
