| Abstract: | Editorial is the soul of a newspaper.It represents the authoritative opinions of the newspaper to some issues.Based on Halliday′s Systemic-Functional Grammar,this article uses 20 English editorials collected from Globaltimes and the New York Times as language materials and makes a comparative analysis on modal adjuncts. |
