现代新诗的白话选择及其引发的问题

在新诗的发韧时期,白话的选择和使用是一种富有意味的重大历史举措。白话的接受,一方面是环境的外在驱动,一方面则因缘于当时汉语诗歌本身的实际情形。它使汉语诗歌实现了一次革命性的变化,完成了由古典向现代的过渡,但与此同时,它也为汉语诗歌的发展带来了种种问题,从内在制约了后起诗人为新诗的发展所做的种种努力。所以,如何创造一种如周作人所言的“把中国文学固有的特质因了外来影响而益美化”的既“融化”而又“独创”的新诗语言,便成了新世纪的中国诗人们需要认真思考并探索的一件大事。

Use of Vernacular in Modern Verses and the Issues Resulted

At the initial phrase of free verses,the option and use of vernacular is a significant measure bearing far-reaching influence.The acceptance of vernacular,on one hand,is driven externally by circumstances,and on the other hand it is due to the actual situation of Chinese verses at that time.It brings about a revolutionary change in Chinese verse and fulfills its transition from classicism to modernism.Meanwhile,it causes many problems for the development of Chinese verse,and it internally restricts all the efforts of the up-and-coming poets that they have made to advocate the development of new free verses.Therefore,it has become a matter of significance to be carefully thought over and studied for the Chinese poets of the new century as to how to achieve a cosmopolitan but also original free verse language-as Zhou Zuoren puts it-the inherent characteristics of Chinese literature get beautifully enhanced because of the external influences.
