从文化翻译观谈英汉习语翻译的归化、异化

二十世纪九十年代以来,西方翻译界新的学派—文化翻译学派形成,该学派认为翻译是文化内部与文化之间的交流,翻译等值就是原语与译语在文化功能上的等值,这种观点给翻译界人士以新的启示,使得翻译理论进入全新领域。文化翻译观同样也给习语的翻译带来很大优势,用这一观点从文化层次的高度上灵活采取归化或异化来处理习语翻译,使原语和译入语在文化功能上等效。因此,使翻译作品具有广泛的可接受性。

The Reflection of Cultural Translation in Domesticating & Foreignizing Translation of E&C Idioms

A new school - Cultural Translation School has formed in Western translation field since 1990s. Translators and translating theorists, who hold such a view, believe that translation is an intra-culture and inter-culture exchange, the equivalence in translation means that both source language and target language can achieve equivalent effect in culture function. Cultural Translation sheds a light on people in translation field and leads translating theory into a new domain. It also offers new message to idiom translation, translators can flexibly employ domesticating or foreignizing strategy to deal with idioms. From cultural standard, translators make S.L and T.L equal in culture function. Therefore, such a translation is widely accepted.
