大可能强但不一定强——关于大学合并扩张的几点认识

大学在做大做强的过程中,主要有剥壳繁衍式、合并扩张式、合并升格式等形式。通过合并扩张的大学,大可能强,但大不一定强。大而强,需要满足包括对内提高同化能力,对外提高竞争能力在内的许多条件,包括:学校要建设尽可能多的难以模仿的品牌或特色,要建设激烈而合理的竞争机制,要有良好的发展条件和环境,校长必须要有较高的综合素养尤其是创新能力。

A university usually enlarges and strengthens itself in various ways,such as disintegrating,reproducing,merging,expanding and upgrading.A large-scale university can be more powerful than ever,but it is not necessarily so powerful.To be large-scale and powerful,a university is necessary to enhance its assimilation internally and its competitiveness externally.It has to build up more brands and features which are hard to be imitated,and to create fierce but rational competitive mechanisms with fine conditions and environments of development.And the university president must possess higher all-round qualities,especially an innovative ability.
