佛典翻译文学与中国民间文学

佛典翻译文学和民间文学都具有内容丰富、表现形式多样的特点,达到相当高的艺术水平。佛典翻译文学虽然不能全部作为民间文学看待,可是有相当一部分是借用民间文学材料附会加工而成的,如“佛传”、“佛本生故事”和“譬喻故事”中的许多作品,可看作柒上宗教色彩的民间文学。佛典翻译文学与民间文学互相渗透,呈现出“你中有我,我中有你”的复杂情况。

The Buddhist Translation Literature and the Chinese Folk Literature

The Buddhist translation literature and folk literature have substantial content and various characteristics. They have reached quite high level of art. Though Buddhist translation literature cannot be entirely regarded as folk literature, quite parts of it have been quoted from folk literature, such as many stories from "the Buddhist Commentaries", "the original stories of Buddha", "the metaphoric stories", which can be regarded as folk literature with religious flavor. The Buddhist translation literature and folk literature permeate each other. This presents a complicated case, meaning, "You are in my life and I'm in your life.
