| 摘 要： | At apress conference held during the 2nd annual session of the 11th National People＇s Congress on March 1 2, Director-General of the Hanban （Chinese Language Council international） and the Headquarters of Confucius Institutes Mr. Xu Lin said that Chinese language courses had been offered in more than 3000 universities and colleges in 109 countries around the world and foreign learners of the Chinese language had exceeded 40 million, it is estimated that foreign learners of the Chinese language will reach up to 100 million by 2010.
