Abstract: | This article reviewed current literature on home-based contingency management, noting a need for guidelines to aid teachers in selecting effective programs for the classroom. Three guidelines were offered based upon degree of positiveness, demonstrated empirical effectiveness, and costs to teachers and parents. A demonstration of how to use a simple home-based program was presented. The results indicated the successful reduction of mild classroom disruptive behavior through the implementation of the program. Relevant issues for teachers were discussed. |
