An Elucidation of Nietzsche's Early Theories on Tragedy

The research into the origin of tragedy, especially that of the ancient Greek tragedy, is just the start point in Nietzsche's general philosophy as well as in his early aesthetic thought. Nietzsche's early thought on tragedy includes obviously various seeds of his middle-and-latter philosophy, and even is the basis of his late philosophical research. Therefore, as far as Nietzsche. the first tragic philosopher is concerned, it is doubtless important to elucidate his thought on tragedy, especially his early thought involved. In this article,the author proposes to explore Nietzsche's early thought on tragedy by analyzing several points as follows: the purport and main content in Nietzsche's early theories on tragedy, the representative of the birth of tragedy ; the connection between his early thought on tragedy and his latter philosophy; the significance of Nietzsche's thought on tragedy.
