北魏后期南来吴裴与河东裴氏之比较

A comparison between Pei of the Kingdom of Wu from the South and Pei in Hedong in the late Northern Wei Dynasty

A branch of Pei in Hedong moved to Shouyang in the south after the Yongjia Trouble. After its returning to the north in the later period of the Northern Wei Dynasty,it was called "Pei of the Kingdom of Wu from the south" . Both Pei of the Kingdom of Wu from the south and Pei in Hedong lost their high status they had had in the period of Wei and Jin, but difference between them in their marriage, official career and culture existed. Generally speaking, in order to return to its hometown Hedong, Pei of the Kingdom of Wu from the south stayed in the south to play their part in various prefectures and became an independent branch. Their official career showed that Pei in Hedong mostly worked as nonmilitary officials in Central Government while Pei of the Kingdom of Wu from the south were mostly officials in local governments and got promotion by military achievements. In addition, they showed their difference in culture type. Pei of the Kingdom of Wu from the south as a newly-born family showed its vitality everywhere.
