"五四"至抗战:中国现代文学"大众化"趋势的嬗变

“大众化”是中国现代文学的一条重要的发展脉络。“五四”时期诞生的平民文学观念开启了一条对平民社会“启蒙 认同”的思想认知传统;1928年创办的《大众文艺》表现出“左翼”文化阵营内部对“大众化”问题的歧见;1930年代的“文艺大众化”运动使中国现代文学的“大众化”趋势加速向“左”转,“大众化”被等同于“普罗化”,这一过程中存在着比较明显的缺失。因此,五四至抗战期间现代文学“大众化”趋势的内部实际上具有一个“双重指涉”的意义空间。

From "the May 4th Movement" to the Anti-Japanese War: the Change of the "Popularization" Trend in Modern Chinese Literature

"Popularization" is an important thread of development in modern Chinese literature. The concept of the populace literature initiated during the May 4th Movement starts an ideological tradition of recognizing literature as having the function of "enlightenment and identification" for the society, and the journal Literature and Art for the Populace sponsored in 1928 manifests prejudices on the issue of popularization in the cultural camp of the Left-wing writers while the campaign of popularization in literature and art in the 1930s accelerates the change of the popularization trend to the Left in modern Chinese literature, so that popularization is made to equal "proletarianization". There have been overt defects in such a process of change. Therefore, there is in effect a domain of meaning with "double-signifiers" within the "popularization" trend in modem Chinese literature during the time from the May 4th Movement to the Anti-Japanese War.
