Three Distorted Delineations of Women in Richard Wright's Fiction

Richard Wright describes his women characters as the ingenuous,degenerate and foolish "others" in his fiction.All the frustration and hardships the male characters suffer in their life are attributed to the assumed errors of women and Wright spreads the male prejudice against women to the effect that women are the source of all male frustrations.As a result,the images of women have been greatly distorted and scandalized.Wright's writings follow the patriarchal viewpoint that "women are made for men." The untrue delineation marks his limitation and distortion as a male writer in the creation of female characters.
