浅谈古代注释中的“如字”

〕“如字”是古代注释中常用的一个重要术语。我认为，“如字”就是“按字面音念”的意思，是相对于“破读音”的一个术语。字面音指的是一个汉字所记录词的常用的基本义的读音。古人说某个句子中的某个字如字，就是告诉读者，这个字在这个句子中，要按它通常的字面音去念，要按它的常用的基本义去理解

A tentative study of Ruzi in the ancient aunotations

The ruzi is such an important term that it used to be used frequently in ancient annotations. I think the meaning of ruzi is to pronounce a Chinese character according to its literal pronunciation.The term was advanced in connection with podu (the pronunciation other than the most common,customary pronunciation of a character which has more than two forms of pronounciation because of different senses) pronunciation.Literal pronunciation is pronunciation of the basic meaning of Chinese characters.When ancients said a Chinese character in a sentence had to be read according to it, they meant that readers must pronounce it according to its literal pronunication and must explain it according to its basic meaning.
