| Abstract: | On the lack of the collection of English humanistic social science books in the university libraries since the founding of our country, and by the comparison between the CASHL catalogue representing the general status of collection in the university libraries in our country and the catalogues of the three most prestigious universities in the world, namely Harvard, Cambridge, Yale, the paper analyzes the status of shortage of English humanistic social science books in Chinese university libraries from 1950-2007 through two angles, i.e. discipline and the time of publishment, and also discusses the English books retrospective filled building strategies . |
