新疆少数民族“双语”教育千年大事年表（之二）

新疆自古以来就是一个多民族聚居区，是连接欧亚大陆的独特交通要塞，是多种文化的汇集地。各种文化的载体——语言，不可避免地发生相互的交流、影响和学习。双语现象、双语人、双语教育从古至今绵延不绝。文章追溯了新中国成立至2002年期间，新疆双语教育经历的体系建立、停滞、恢复、改革试验的各个阶段，揭示了新中国成立后，党和政府高度重视新疆的双语教育。在“文化大革命”期间遭遇坎坷后，采取了一系列措施，双语教育不断得到加强并稳步发展。
