《大淖记事》英译本“散文味”的淡化

摘    要:“散文化”是汪氏小说的典型特点,也成为了他小说的一张名片。在其作品的英译中,保留这种“散文味”对译者来说是一项挑战,考察了译者对“信达雅”之“信”的拿捏,也是衡量译文优劣的标准之一。对比研究《大淖记事》原文和邝文东的英译本1],发现原文在遣词造句、文章结构、语言内容方面表现出浓郁的“散文味儿”,而译者在译文中删减原文内容、变换句式,致使原文的“散文味”在译文中变得稀薄。研究发现,造成此结果的原因有三:英汉语言系统的不同、文化差异、译者的“有心之失”。

Abstract:“Prosaic tendency”is a typical feature of Wang's novels and has become a business card.In translating of his works into English,retaining the“prosaic taste”is a challenge for the translator and one of the criteria for measuring the pros and cons of the translation.Through the comparative study of the original text and the English translation by Kuang Wendong,it is found that the translator leave out part of the original contents and transforms structure of the sentences,so that the“prosaic taste”of the original text becomes diluted in the translation.There are three reasons for that:the differences between English and Chinese language systems,cultural differences,and the translator's intention.
