| 摘 要： | 照应作为语篇衔接手段已为语言界所公认。本文依照 Ｓｕｓａｎ Ｅｈｒｉｃｈ的理论，示例说明照应在自由间接引语语篇中带插入语的语句和带嵌入式从句的语句如何与它们的上下文构成连贯语篇的。

| Abstract: | Reference, as a cohesive means, is well-acknowledged. The paper, based on Ehrlich' s theory, illustrates how reference in sentences containing parentheticals and sentences with em-bedded clauses in indirect speeches creates cohesive discourses. |
