江南第一庙

“灵祠屹立古江头，潮落潮生几度秋。静夜一轮沉底月，尚疑素魂漾中流。”从我的记忆中，从来没有一座庙有如此虔诚的参观者，也从来没有一座庙让参观者如此惊叹不已。这就是被誉为“江南第一庙”的曹娥庙。

A Memorial in Honor of Daughter

Cao E Temple is located in Shangyu City, Zhejiang, a coastal province in east- ern China. The temple goes back to the days of the Eastern Han Dynasty （25-220）. Cao E （pronounced as heard without h and d） was the daughter of Cao Xu, a musician. Cao E lost her mother in her early years. On the fifth day of the fifth month in 143AD, a local ceremony was held to greet the god of tides. Cao Xu rode a ship on the river sailing against the tides coming in from the river mouth.
