Nonverbal behavior has different meanings in different cultures.During the intercultural communication between the east and west,there are some misunderstandings because different cultures have different understanding on nonverbal behavior.Nonverbal communication involves all those nonverbal stimuli in a communication setting.It was thought as the same as body language.Cultures differ in the perception and use of personal space,seating,furniture arrangement,time and silence.Studying nonverbal behavior can lead to the discovery of a culture's underlying attitudes and values.
