文学张力说:历时回顾

张力是艾伦.退特独创的一个文论术语,主要指诗中内涵义与外延义的同时存在,扩言之,指矛盾对立因素的有机统一,其直接源头是兰色姆和燕卜荪,但相关观念源远流长。张力论在新批评派内部得到广泛引申,后又受到阿恩海姆的创造性发展。随着新批评观念的引进,张力论在我国也不断被引申、应用,但其理论价值还没充分发挥。

The Theory of Literary Tension: A Longitudinal Review

Tension is an original term created by Tate in literary theory,which means the coexistence of intension and extension in poetry.Generally speaking,tension indicates the organic unity of ambivalent and opposite factors.It originated directly from Ransom and Empson,but the correlative ideas went back to the ancient time.It had been used widely in New Criticism School,and was then developed creatively by Arnheim.With the introduction of the points of the New Criticism,the theory of the tension has been used in China ever since.Nevertheless,its academic value hasnot been brought forth.
