海西经济区背景下福州会展业竞争力提升研究

福州会展业迅速崛起,在整个海西经济区会展城市排名中占有举足轻重的位置,2011年更一度成为海西之首。但随着会展经济的受益越来越明显,厦门、温州、泉州、汕头等海西城市都积极发展会展产业,与福州争抢会展市场,以至于这两年福州会展经济陷入低谷。文章通过选取厦门、温州这两个会展业发展相对成熟的海西城市与福州在会展市场、综合实力、内部产业等方面进行比较分析,表明福州在发展会展产业上是具有比较优势的,然后利用钻石理论分析影响福州会展产业竞争力的因素,指出福州发展会展经济所具备的优势以及存在的不足,最后从政府、市场、行业协会、企业、相关产业与支持产业以及机会等方面提出相应的提升策略,旨在提高福州在海西乃至全国会展城市中的竞争力。

On Promoting MICE Industry in the Context of West Coast Economic Zone

Fuzhou MICE industry has witnessed substantial growth since the ＂Eleventh Five -Year Plan＂ was carried out; Fuzhou takes a pivotal position in the list of MICE cities in West Coast Economic Zone. It even was ranked first in 2011 among the cities. However, with the benefits from exhibition economy being more and more obvious, many cities, such as Xiamen, Wenzhou, Quanzhou, Shantou, have been actively developing MICE industry and compete with Fuzhou to get a lion share in MICE market; as a result, Fuzhou exhibition economy is at its lowest in the past two years. This paper compares Fuzhou＇s exhibition market with Xiamen and Wenzhou, which were two developed cities in the said economic zone, in the aspects of comprehensive strength, internal industry. It is clear that Fuzhou has the apparent competitive advantage in developing MICE industry. Meanwhile, Diamond system theory is employed to analyze the factors which affect Fuzhou MICE industry＇s competitiveness so as to reveal the advantages and unfavorable factors in of Fuzhou exhibition industry. Finally, this paper puts forward some corresponding improvement strategies involving the government, market, industry, associations, enterprises, supporting industries and related industries, aiming to promote the competitiveness of Fuzhou in exhibition markets in West Coast Economic Area and nationwide.
