| Abstract: | Language is always changing, especially English. English has undergone many changes since the Old English period, especially in the field of vocabulary. There are different characteristics for vocabulary in different periods. This paper presents the development of English vocabulary from several aspects: history, approach, reasons and trend in the future. It will be helpful to English teachers and professional people in the teaching and research. |
