College English audio-visual and speaking teaching and learning serves as an essential teaching means to develop students' communicative competence and all-round abilities,especially their abilities to listen and speak.Nevertheless,unsatisfactory teaching effects of the course,together with students' poor listening and speaking abilities for this course,has become a pressing problem for teachers at higher institutions to solve.This article first analyzes the current situation of college English audio-visual and speaking teaching.It then presents concrete strategies concerning optimizing the teaching mode.
