廷顿政治稳定思想述评

亨廷顿从第二次世界大战后一些现代发展中国家实际存在的政治动荡情况出发,研究了影响这些国家政治稳定的因素,提出现代性产生稳定而现代化却产生不稳定的论断,认为现代化过程中出现的政治参与和政治制度化水平的发展不协调是这些国家产生动乱的根源。为此,他提出了种种建议并特别强调了强大政府和政党的作用,而在论述改革的两种战略时突出了农民的地位,并对公共利益的界定和腐败问题做出了自己独特的见解。他的政治稳定思想给现代发展中国家尤其是我国以很大的启示,具有重大的借鉴意义。但由于其阶级立场的使然和研究环境、条件的限制,决定了其无法回避的历史局限性。

Commentary Review on Huntington''''s Thoughts of Political Stability

Start with the political turbulence condition actually existed in modern developing countries after the Second World War,Huntington studies the factors affecting political stability.He believes that modernity can bring political stability while modernization brings instability.The root of the instability is the imbalance of the political participation and the level of political institutionalization in the process of modernization.Therefore,his proposals stress the influence of a powerful government and political party.He also highlights the significance of peasants.He has unique understanding on defining the public interest and dealing with corruption.His philosophy of the political stability enlightens many developing countries including China though there are inevitable history limits due to his class perspective,research condition and environment.
