On the Causes of the Social Tendency of Self- Recommendation in the Early Boom Period of the Tang Dyasty

Scholars’ self-introduction was popular in the early boom period of the Tang Dynasty. This thesis analyzes the causes of the popularity of self-introduction and comes to the following conclusion: First, the enrollment system of mandarin by introduction and recommendation was highly appreciated, which was the direct cause of the popularity of self-introduction ; secondly, confidence and aggressiveness were the spirit of the times and the inner motivation of the popularity of self-introduction; thirdly, recommendation of the capable was a social belief, which engendered the outer environment for the popularity of self-introduction.
