Analysis on Success of American University Foundations and Its Enlightenment

University foundation has been playing an important role through the development of American higher education, and it's an important channel of raising money for America universities. It provides strong financial backup force for guarantee of higher education quality, and has obtained great success. This paper discusses the social factors for the success of American university foundations in terms of education-assisting tradition and system guarantee, and also analyses university presidents' functions in raising funds, alumni donation, and operation of funds. Finally, this paper deals with how Chinese university foundations should learn from the success of American university foundations.
