中国古代自传文学中的仕与隐——以白居易、胡应麟为例

中国传统文人的出仕与归隐情怀在古代自传中得到了真实、细致的写照。在古代自传中,能在仕与隐中做出十分坚定的选择的传主可谓寥寥无几。在大多数传主身上,仕与隐的冲突是始终存在的,只是有的传主隐藏得较为成功,而有的传主则敞开心扉直抒胸臆。但正是这冲突的存在,使得古代自传具有浓烈而独特的生命意识。

The ancient Chinese scholars often held complex feelings about being a government official or simply a hermit,which find authentic and detailed portrayal in ancient autobiographies.Few authors of those autobiographies were able to make a determined choice between an official career and seclusion.The conflict between the two choices was always there on most autobiographers.Only some of them could manage to hide it while some others tended to open their hearts to speak it out.It is the very existence of this conflict that endows the ancient autobiographies with strong and unique life consciousness.
