| Abstract: | English proverbs are the gems of the English language and literature, and a crystallization of the wisdom of the English nations. Various figures of speech used in the English proverbs help them to have a feature of concision and create vivid images, elegant rhythms and profound messages, and add to them a strong artistic expression and verbal beauty. |
