The World of Work: curriculum models

The ways in which students are prepared for life after school have changed dramatically in recent years. This paper outlines five different approaches to incorporating the world of work into the school curriculum. Advantages and potential difficulties arising from these alternative approaches are identified from both student and teacher perspectives. A number of issues that need to be addressed in implementing a work‐related curriculum are explored.
